Predictive analytics is central to our success. Our analytics teams work closely with other business units to develop creative, data-driven solutions to business problems.
Actuarial analysts use their strong statistical background and knowledge gained from actuarial exams to create high-quality predictive models. Business analysts use specialized skills, such as Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and competitive data analysis, to design innovative business processes.

Actuarial
For students majoring in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science or economics, this path offers mentorship, study support, and many other benefits for university students.
Designed to recruit and grow future business and technical leaders, this program may be the fast track to your goals. No matter your career trajectory, you'll make meaningful contributions to the development of our products and services, doing work terms in reserve, valuation, pricing, and more.

Underwriting
For students who are majoring in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, this path includes opportunities to play a critical role in contributing to our key business deliverables.
You'll develop professional experience using spreadsheets, databases, and underwriting systems, and you'll collaborate with various teams to support product and pricing development across Definity.

Claims
Our claims department is at the heart of what we do — guiding customers through a stressful time and helping them restore their lives. Students pursuing university or college degrees in insurance, business, health, psychology, or sociology will find a range of opportunities within this field.
Our co-op students work with several teams, either assisting adjusters or investigating, evaluating, and settling claims. We also have teams that work with our data and reports to track and monitor fraud and current trends. It's an opportunity to make a real difference, while gaining valuable skills and experience.

Project Management
Our Enterprise Project Management office offers students a chance to be a part of an exciting, agile department that manages multiple priorities to deliver value to our customers. This fast-paced team has a finger on the pulse of some of our most transformational and innovative business priorities, working with multiple team members and stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity for students currently enrolled in a university degree in business, computer science, data analytics, project management, or related fields.

Legal
Students pursuing a law degree are encouraged to bring their knowledge and talent to a team that enjoys a wide variety of work, plus the work-life balance that comes with an in-house legal team.
As an articling student, you'll provide support to lawyers within the department, preparing legal memoranda, conducting legal research, and drafting pleadings, motion records, facta, and other court documents. You may also make independent appearances in court when appropriate. From time to time, our articling students also handle small claims court matters from pleadings to trial.

Finance
For students majoring in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, this path includes opportunities within our corporate development, investments, analytics, procurement, corporate services, and reinsurance teams, along with our data enablement office.
Our finance team combines planning, analysis, and reporting to offer customized solutions and strategies for our clients and stakeholders, ensuring our daily operations support our corporate strategy and drive profitable growth.

Human Resources
If you're working towards a degree or diploma focused on human resources, organizational behavior, or industrial relations, this path offers valuable experience that will deepen your understanding of human resources in a corporate setting.
As a valued member of one of our HR teams (Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, HR Operations, Employee Experience, or Total Rewards), you'll have the chance to develop leadership, project management, and relationship building skills.
