  • Review all assigned property and auto subrogation files and analyze for subrogation potential and determine the ultimate probable outcome of recovery
  • Ability to identify all potential tort feasors with knowledge of legal doctrines and case law that can apply in each file for recovery
  • Prepare files and subrogation documents as well as the ability to determine the amount of recovery from the file material and the systems used (Xactimate, Autosource,  ISB, CDS)
  • Locate and contact the third party, third party insurers or lawyers to initiate settlement negotiations
  • Manage a large volume of property and auto subrogation claims files and other special subrogation projects
  • Review and prepare subrogation files for the litigation program including managing the expenses, budgeting and providing instructions to counsel
  • Participate in legal proceedings when required
  • Collaborate with claims partners for early identification & investigation of high potential subrogation claims
  • Knowledge of legal proceedings and ability to prepare files for legal proceedings when required

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree or a 2 year college diploma or the CIP designation.
  • Fluently Bilingual, English and French
  • AMF license – 5(a) is a requirement
  • Mandatory 2+ years of intermediate level property claims handing experience, auto claims handling experience, subrogation handling experience required or combination thereof
  • Negotiation and litigation experience with adjusters, third parties and counsel considered an asset
  • Liability claims experience is an asset
