Role Location: Waterloo (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities the Facilities Designers main responsibility is to provide space planning and full design services for the organization. This will include initiating and developing the design process providing support and guidance to the clients, meeting their requirements while developing and maintaining corporate standards.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Meet with clients to develop requirements document, ensuring that accurate seating, storage adjacency, growth information is gathered.
  • Generate, in AutoCAD, all drawings as required, typically:
    • Concept layouts
    • Detailed drawings for budget preparation
    • Full drawing package for permit submission
    • Detailed move drawings to include all individual furniture items with great attention to detail
  • Arrange for drawing review with clients, Project Manager and Facilities Manager documenting and implementing changes as required.
  • Ensuring that all proposals adhere to relevant building code and proper design principles.
  • Support to Project Manager during project plan development and project execution, including all project closeout documentation.
  • Maintain inventories of furniture and artwork and develop and maintain standards documentation.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Diploma or degree in accredited interior design program.
  • Member in good standing with ARIDO 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial design and space planning.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or higher 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to tactfully resolve conflict.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments and deadline
  • A good understanding of and ability to use Microsoft office suite
