About the Role:
The Claims Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team is a pioneer and leader in transforming the way business teams operate at Economical through advanced automation, thoughtful business process redesign and application of advanced technologies, such as OCR and natural language processing (NLP) algorithms. Our aim is to radically improve how our internal clients operate via agile delivery of faster, optimized, and robust automated solutions. We are looking for a smart, hard-working and creative software professional, who is eager to make a significant, tangible impact through quality-centric thinking. A successful candidate must be good team player, and willing to working in an Agile, continuously adaptive environment. Knowledge of QA methodologies, and basic development skills are preferred.
The RPA developer is responsible for the execution of documentation, development, and QA testing of robotic process artefacts that will help drive operational accuracy and efficiency. The RPA developer will be primarily responsible for QA testing of artefacts, through a standardized Software Testing Lifecycle and testing procedures, and assist in development and documentation of processes. Using best in class methods, the RPA developer will help create and test scalable, reliable robotic processes that will deliver continued value to the functional business areas. This will include the testing, monitoring, debugging, maintenance, and reporting of all related RPA products and outputs.

Support efforts in collaboration with PM team/Claims operations to size new projects accurately

Assist in maintaining an intake model that captures business requirements, cost benefit analysis, scores or ranks the initiative vs a back-log of automation initiatives.

Support the documentation of as-is processes, with basic workflow diagrams

Develop RPA workflow models within UI layer that address failures, bugs, and exceptions.

Ensure workflows are legible and well documented, and follow RPA programming best practices

Create and execute test plans, and report results to business stakeholders.

Address issues in a timely fashion, and work collaboratively with business stakeholders to determine optimal solutions. This should include stepping through artefact with business stakeholders, controlled test, and pilot runs.

General maintenance and monitoring of RPA artefacts, including enhancements or break fixes.
What do you bring to the role?

Currently enrolled in a University degree or college diploma in a related discipline (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar)

High proficiency in programming languages such as: C#, Python, Java, as well as basic proficiency in SQL, database structures, document object models, regular expressions, data operations.

Strong attention to detail with apt analytical and presentation skills.

Strong problem solving skills, with an “automation-first mindset“ and a can-do attitude

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Familiarity with an RPA platform would be a plus, but not mandatory (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, BluePrism)

Work Location: The position will either be a hybrid (1-3 days in office) or fully remote. These positions are spread across our different locations including Kitchener/Waterloo, Mississauga and Toronto
