Responsibilities
- Facilitating weekly Team Huddles and one on one meetings with team members.
- Effectively analyzing, developing and implementing efficient claims processes, procedures and methods to assist with improved processes and results.
- Providing guidance, on-the-job training, technical instructions and direct leadership to assigned staff relative to performance, productivity, personal conduct and adherence to processes and corporate policies and procedures.
- Providing on-going performance feedback and designing development plans when needed.
- Completing monthly audits by reviewing and monitoring claims files and providing effective feedback.
- Fostering staff development by assisting with the selection of staff, conducting performance evaluations, providing ongoing and effective feedback, identifying training opportunities and keeping staff informed of changes to policies and procedures.
- Initiating interviews for vacancies within the unit and making recommendations for new hires.

Qualifications:
- Prior proven record of Leadership a significant asset.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in bodily injury / casualty litigation claims.
- Strong technical skills in bodily injury and general liability claims and ability to handle technical issues within the team.
- Demonstrated organizational, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Experience with the performance management process.
- University degree in any discipline or a college diploma in one of the following programs: (2 year diploma from a provincially recognized and funded community college in: Insurance, Law & Security, Loss Control or Business Administration) or the CIP designation.
