Claims Adjuster (no license required) – Paid in-house AMF Training and Designation Program

We’re looking for exceptional bilingual customer service representatives looking to shift their career in insurance, giving you the ability to create new and long-term career paths at Definity Insurance with very competitive compensation.

To become a Claims Adjuster in Quebec, you will need to hold an AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers) license and through this internal training program, Definity will pay for all training, exams and courses. If this interests you, continue reading below for more information!

To be considered for this position, you will be provided with paid in class professional instruction and material to prepare you for writing the three mandatory AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers) exams in personal lines insurance.  Additional requirements such as keeping up with your annual AMF licensing and obtaining licensing in other providences in personal lines insurance will be required.

How does it work exactly?

  1. Apply for the role and if you meet the requirements, you’ll be contacted by someone from our talent acquisition team
  2. If you successfully pass through our interview process, you will receive an employment offer from Definity
  3. You will start your role in 8 weeks of training with a group of new hires. Together, within these 8 weeks you will receive training from the AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers) that will cover Auto, Property and the Law requirements. As part of this training, you will have exam prep days and take all 3 exams required to get your license. All of this is paid for and provided by Definity
  4. Once fully licensed, you’ll be working as a fully qualified claims adjuster in Quebec for Definity Insurance!
  5. You will receive full support from our trainers and managers as you learn the content and prep for the exams

What you’ll be doing as a Claims Adjuster:

The Claims Adjuster role is to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims in accordance with Definity’s procedures. A conversation with a Claims Adjuster can make or break a customer’s day, so ensuring we help customers with the highest level of empathy and customer service is key to this role!

  • Respond promptly and professionally to incoming inquiries by telephone, or email
  • Taking ownership of each call, handling it until resolution is reached, which includes follow-up, as necessary to ensure that the actions promised to the caller are completed
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with customers by using positive language and anticipating their needs
  • Provide the insured with basic information on coverage, and arrange any necessary supplemental services
  • Gather all necessary information, inputting it accurately into company database
  • Provide data tracking support and manage spreadsheets

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Completion of post-secondary education, College, University or CEGEP
  • 1-3 years of experience in a call center or you have experience providing exceptional customer service experience
  • Fluency in French and English
