What can you expect in this role?

At Sonnet, we are continuously creating dynamic, and innovative digital solutions to best serve the evolving needs and preferences of our customers. In addition to maintaining and growing the current digital offering the User Experience Design Manager is responsible for building the next generation of digital solutions and customer experiences for our platform. Sonnet is looking for a User Experience Design Manager to join our Toronto team. The ideal candidate will be leading our teams through research, digital strategy, concepting, product definition and interaction design for web and mobile, and work directly with our stakeholders in operations, marketing, insurance product and IT.

  • Understanding and solving functional problems for large digital experiences and cross-platform applications by creating intuitive wireframes and prototypes
  • Creating personas, sitemaps, and other design methods and owning our end-to-end customer journey
  • Collaborate with digital operations and marketing to continually assess the needs of the customer, market trends, competitive opportunities and threats in order to build robust digital solutions.
  • Provide User Experience leadership and guidance across product and design teams from early discovery through launch utilizing design critiques, brainstorming sessions, and other human-centered design methodologies and practices

What do you bring to the role?

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in a digital experience design or equivalent role. Understanding of Digital and marketing technologies is an asset. Client side experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of Figma, Sketch and
  • Strong knowledge of design systems
  • Strong understanding of designing intuitive wireframes for cross-platform applications and website
  • Strong leadership, communication and organization skills and a passion for the digital space
  • Experience partnering and delivering with groups across an organization including Product Management, Sales and Marketing.
  • The ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines, and changing priorities
  • The ability to facilitate strategic and design workshops across both in-person and virtual environments.
  • Contribute ideas and collaborate with all levels of the team to produce impactful customer experiences
