What can you expect in this role?

  • This role offers work/ life balance with a flexible hybrid approach
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial accounting including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations
  • Preparing timely, accurate and complete financial and management reporting to meet the requirements of both internal (i.e. Head Office, executives and business units) and external customers (i.e. regulators and auditors)
  • Preparation of statutory filings
  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete financial information to support ad-hoc requests and special projects
  • Understand Finance customers' requirements, assisting with the identification of the correct source of data, extracting the data and structuring it in a meaningful way
  • Identification of any potential problems or risk areas as well as opportunities
  • Work to continuously improve current processes and financial reports to improve accuracy and efficiency

What do you bring to this role?

  • University or college degree in a business, finance or related program
  • A CPA accounting designation or in the final stages of obtaining a CPA accounting designation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or independently with supervision
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial analyst role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to self-review work performed for reasonability, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Insurance industry experience would be beneficial but is not required
