The Advanced Analytics team at Definity is looking for individuals with a passion in the areas of Data Science and Machine Learning Operationalization (MLOps). As a Junior Advanced Analytics Professional reporting to the Manager, Advanced Analytics you will support the creation and operationalization of predictive models, tools, and processes based on internal and external data to improve business decision making and the customer experience.  You must demonstrate a passion for creating innovative solutions, and you must be able to explain complex concepts to stakeholders to gain acceptance for your analysis.

We are looking for creative, curious, and analytical team members to join our Advanced Analytics team!

What can you expect in this role?

  • Use your creativity and curiosity to develop and deploy new analytical models and tools to help the business in their decision-making
  • Apply professional experience with data science software to prepare, analyze, and model data
  • Prepare and present high-quality deliverables to communicate insights and recommendations
  • Uncover issues and trouble shoot existing tools and data processes, discover the fix and bring the solution to the team
  • Learn our current tools and run reports to be visualized for leaders. Help leaders understand the story behind the numbers
  • Continually focus on innovation and process improvement to promote leading practice and efficiency across the organization

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, statistics, actuarial science, or a related discipline
  • 1+ years of professional work experience in a data analysis-related position
  • Strong communication (verbal/written) and organizational skills
  • Highly analytical, demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
  • Strong programming skills, with a proficiency in using the R and/or Python programming language for data wrangling and analysis
  • Knowledge of the following is an asset:
    • APIs
    • Agile methodologies
    • SharePoint
