Your Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate and manage moderate to complex personal and commercial property claims
  • Confirm policy coverage by ensuring the facts of the claim fall within the scope of Economical claims policies
  • Maintain detailed file records by entering pertinent data into the appropriate systems
  • Process claims payments within level of authority after verifying claimants’ entitlements
  • Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned files
  • Mentor and train less-experienced Claims staff

Your Skills and Experience

  • University degree in any discipline, CIP designation or a 2-year college diploma in one of the following programs: Insurance, Law & Security, Loss Control, Business Administration
  • Minimum 8 years of property claims handling experience
  • Experience scoping and estimating losses
  • Familiarity with CICS, IMS, Xactimate and CDS system is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be available to travel within, and as required, outside of territorial boundaries
  • Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers
  • Able to perform well in a busy operation and remains calm under pressure
  • Team player adaptable to a changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
