Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Insurance Product Owners, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of the Business and Technology Roadmap to achieve best in class customer experience and effective operational scalability, ensuring strategic goals are met.
This role supports the intersection of Commercial Insurance, TS teams, external vendors, industry regulators, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will support the Product Owner in translating business objectives into actionable items to achieve company goals.
This is a 12 Month Contract.
What to expect
- Work with the Product Owner to understand our long-term roadmap and project objectives.
- Assist in the documenting of business requirements, acceptance criteria, test plans, risks, and dependencies.
- Participate in user acceptance testing against predetermined acceptance criteria and conduct post deployment production verification.
- Ensure relevant technical and business team members communicate regularly to bring high value technical recommendations and solutions to the product delivery process.
- Identify and escalate risks and issues to the Product Owner as necessary.
- Present user stories to stakeholders, and confirm new functionality meets the requirements and acceptance criteria of the business while also working with the Product Owner to ensure that that backlog items are prioritized appropriately according to business vision and priorities.
- Create project documentation, coordinate with the Product Owner to create communication and training material, and facilitate training sessions as required.
- Support business roll out activities as required.
- Monitor systems and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness of deployed technology.
- Develop and maintain positive interdepartmental relationships.
What you bring
- University Degree or College Diploma
- 2+ years experience in Commercial Insurance (Mid-Market or SME) preferred.
- 2+ years in project delivery roles, executing projects or test plans in small scale and non-complex environments.
- Expert communicator (written and verbal), able to interact professionally and effectively with stakeholders with experience resolving conflicts.
- Knowledge of commercial Policy Administration Systems and Microsoft applications (ECOM, Guidewire, ServiceNow, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.).
- Experience using Agile lifecycle management applications such Jira is an asset.
- Self-motivated and consistently demonstrates the ability to take initiative on any issue.
- Preference will be given to those who are comfortable in Agile development and product management practices.
Salary range: $58,100 - $106,900
