In this high-impact role, you will play a crucial part in providing senior leaders with business performance insights and financial analysis, helping them navigate both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning. Your expertise in analyzing claims-related expenses and forecasting trends will support critical decision-making, ensuring alignment with business goals.
What can you expect from this role?
- Drive strategic decision-making: Support claims leadership by delivering key financial insights, identifying trends, and highlighting areas of opportunity or risk.
- Manage budgets & forecasts: Develop and maintain the annual claims-related expense budget and quarterly forecasts, working closely with stakeholders to align expenses with business objectives.
- Monitor performance & costs: Track actual spending against budget, analyze cost drivers, and provide detailed variance explanations to support informed decision-making.
- Deliver meaningful reports: Prepare monthly external expense reports for various business leaders, ensuring they have the data needed to optimize performance.
- Uncover cost-saving opportunities: Analyze external claims costs to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.
- Tell a compelling story with data: Extract, structure, and present complex financial information in a clear, concise, and actionable format for senior executives and stakeholders.
- Support ad-hoc analysis: Respond to urgent business questions with timely insights, leveraging your analytical expertise to solve complex problems.
What you bring to this role?
- University degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial management reporting and business performance analysis, preferably in P&C insurance, claims, or financial services.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for translating data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication & presentation skills, with experience interacting with senior executives.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, and data modeling.
- Experience with PowerPivot, PowerQuery, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and SQL is a strong asset.
- A collaborative and results-driven mindset, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
