Our purpose-driven organization is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Digital Marketing and Media. Reporting to the AVP, Brand & Marketing Strategy, this role will strategically develop, implement, and measure Definity and Economical digital marketing and media initiatives with a focus on driving brand and business growth and affinity.  

What can you expect to be accountable for in this role? 

Team Leadership: 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of 4 digital specialists.  
  • Foster a positive, empowering culture of collaboration and excellence. 
  • Co-develop efficient/effective processes to support team and organization digital marketing operations. 

Strategy Alignment, Planning & Activation: 

  • Develop and recommend digital marketing strategies to support desired brand/business growth and experience, working with brand, content and broker marketing teams and other stakeholders. 
  • Co-lead development of annual and quarterly digital marketing plans, aligned with broker and brand marketing plans as well as Definity’s broader business goals.  
  • Lead and oversee digital programs/initiatives, collaborating with internal teams and external agencies. Work may include web content/experience, email, digital advertising/media/SEM and SEO programs. 
  • Recommend, track and report on digital budgets. 

 

Digital Media & Campaigns:  

  • Guide and oversee the development, implementation and tracking of digital media initiatives and campaigns. 
  • Champion best practices in digital media planning, testing, and reporting. Includes ongoing exploration of potential new channels and approaches. 

Segmentation & Email Marketing: 

  • Guide and oversee the development, implementation and tracking of email initiatives and campaigns.  
  • Champion best practices in segmentation, email marketing, testing, and reporting. 

Website UX/UI: 

  • Guide and oversee the development, implementation and tracking of select Definity/Economical web initiatives and plans, including major refreshes and ongoing updates, working collaboratively with key stakeholders. 
  • Champion best practices in SEO, UX/UI, web content, analytics, testing and reporting.  

Measurement & Analytics: 

  • Implement tracking, measurement, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess effectiveness of digital initiatives and programs. May include the set-up of dashboards and reporting. 
  • Socialize findings and collaborate with key stakeholders to review and align on progress, action plans and optimizations. 

What do you bring to the role? 

  • Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications. 
  • 8-10 years progressive experience in digital marketing, with strong expertise in at least one area (digital media, email segmentation/marketing, web/UX, SEO or digital analytics) and broad experience across all disciplines and channels of digital marketing. Experience in insurance considered an asset but not required. 
  • Positive player/coach mentality with demonstrated success in leading teams. 
  • Excellent people skills, with proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies and vendors. 
  • Demonstrated orientation towards positive mindset, problem solving, ownership, collaboration, and flexibility. 
  • Effective communication/presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Demonstrated brand and business acumen.  
  • Skilled in mining for relevant digital insights, tracking and reporting on digital marketing and media metrics and analytics.  
  • Proficiency in at least one application of each of the following: CMS systems, database/email platforms, A/B and UX testing solutions, SEO/SEM solutions, analytics platforms, AI solutions, project management software solutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to positively drive self, people, process, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment. 
  • Strong project management skills, capable of guiding and managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Experience developing and managing budgets. 

Salary Range: $87,400 - $161,000

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
