Definity Insurance is seeking a Marketing Manager – Design & Content who will manage our direct-to-consumer creative strategy for Sonnet and Petline. This role will oversee the creation and execution of impactful visuals, messaging, and consumer acquisition experiences. They will play a critical role in shaping the creative vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving engagement across multiple platforms. The role requires a strong focus on innovation and consistency to elevate the brand's presence in competitive markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee creative execution across channels (e.g. social, digital, OOH, website) while maintaining brand standards.
  • Develop strategic creative briefs and evaluate deliverables against objectives.
  • Act as the bridge between internal teams (paid media, UX, designers, writers) to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Manage creative agencies and vendors during development, production, and delivery phases.

Operational Excellence

  • Define and enhance customer interactions across D2C brands to create unique experiences.
  • Utilize market insights to inform decisions and improve digital marketing performance (SEO, SEM, etc.).
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-delivery of marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress and address roadblocks to ensure seamless execution
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing brand consistency across touchpoints.

Strategic Content Development

  • Lead and oversee complex content creation projects, ensuring messaging alignment across all channels.
  • Collaborate with teams to plan, execute, and monitor quarterly and annual content strategies.
  • Grow the creative team to produce meaningful content via social media, CRM, and digital platforms.
  • Implement automation, AI, and process improvements to drive efficiencies.

People Leadership

  • Develop a customer-centric creative strategy aligned with long-term business goals.
  • Provide thought leadership on brand and creative initiatives, ensuring alignment with vision.
  • Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing collaboration, professionalism, and growth.
  • Act as a coach and mentor, providing guidance and feedback to develop team members’ skills and career growth.
  • Promote a learning culture by encouraging knowledge sharing, training, and skill development within the team.

 

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree in Marketing, Business or Communications and diploma in Design
  • 5-10+ years of related experience (brand marketing experience within the financial services industry is an asset)
  • Brand management experience with a strong understanding of brand evolution through the lens of customer segmentation
  • Player / Coach mentality with a minimum 5-10+ years of demonstrated success in managing and leading teams.
  • Project management certification is an asset
  • Solid understanding of content design best practices, user research, information architecture, and design systems
  • Comfortable with tools such as Jira and Figma
  • Proficiency in design software such as: The Adobe Suits programs, (including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects), The Microsoft Suite Programs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to foster key internal and external relationships.

Salary range is: $74,100 - $136,500

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
