Reporting to the Director, PI Operational Planning & Analysis, the Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting is responsible for providing key internal stakeholders with value-added, business performance insights and financial analysis to assist in their decision-making process for managing the day-to-day and long-term business needs of the Personal Insurance business lines.

The analytical support provided by this role enables Senior Leaders within Personal Insurance to understand the impact of their decisions. Articulating and effectively communicating business performance insights and impacts to the business in written and presentation format is a critical part of the role. This role is responsible for identifying any potential problems/ risk areas and recommendations as well as opportunities that require business action.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Support monthly and quarterly business performance reporting for Personal Insurance, with a primary focus on preparation of financial information and communication materials for external (investors, regulators, and auditors) stakeholders.
  • Act as a peer reviewer to all monthly/quarterly divisional business performance reporting for internal (Board of Directors, senior management) stakeholders.
  • Develop financial models and pro-forma financial statements to support senior management team for business decision making.
  • Review existing processes, systems, data and reporting to identify improvement opportunities, and then recommend and/or lead operational special projects and continuous improvements initiatives to strengthen the end-to-end management reporting cycle in Personal Insurance.
  • Coordinate the reviews of processes and update documentation periodically to support internal governance activities such as business continuity management and vendor risk management.
  • Preparing ad-hoc analysis and reports on a timely manner to all queries from stakeholders, as required

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related program
  • Professional designation such as MBA, CPA/CFA.
  • 6+ years of relevant, full-time experience in financial management reporting and business performance analysis
  • Superior written and verbal communication/presentation skills and ability to interact with senior executives and other cross divisional leaders in the organization. Experience with communicating / presenting to senior executives would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with P&C insurance would be an asset
  • Advanced PowerPoint and MS Excel knowledge is required.
  • Proven record of analytical expertise and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and consistently demonstrates an ability to take initiative on any issue

The Salary range is $77,700 - $157,000

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
