What can you expect in this role?
- Review Quality Insurance files for Economical’s Commercial Insurance team.
- Ensure that these files adhere to Economical underwriting guidelines and frameworks.
- Use your underwriting experience and keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality of risk in our Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) book of property and casualty business.
- Review new policies to identify and correct quality concerns, engaging binding brokers in the process, as needed.
- Review underwriter transactions to identify and correct quality concerns.
- Identifying coaching and training needs.
- Participate in the team’s coaching and training projects.
- Work closely with, and leverage knowledge from, subject matter experts across many internal teams.
- Track and report quality trends in our business to guide the commercial leadership team in decision-making and strategy.
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement and execution of the SME external quality review plan and framework.
What do you bring to the role?
- 5+ years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
- Relevant professional designation(s) such as CIP and/or CRM would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial property and casualty underwriting, including insurance/broker operations, internal controls, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence people at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to resourcefully gather information, analyze critically, and communicate clearly.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Bilingualism is a strong asset (English/French).

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
