What can you expect in this role?

This individual will support process and data analysis, consolidate findings, and develop recommendations on business processes, procedures, and tools within Commercial Insurance. The Process Analyst, Co-op will support with prioritizing process improvement initiatives, reporting metrics and benefits realizations, implementing operational efficiencies, and preparing process documentation across Commercial Insurance.

What you’ll be doing

Process Management:

  • Understand baseline performance (i.e. current state) and business requirements to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance workflows 
  • Prioritize project initiatives by researching business requirements, conducting impact-effort analysis, and engaging with stakeholders
  • Update workflow documentation, such as process maps and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as changes are implemented
  • Organize and manage process documentation, knowledge sharing, and reports

Reporting: 

  • Document metrics and report process performance through KPIs and customer experience data
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns and insights that drive business decisions

Implementation

  • Increase operational efficiencies in collaboration with business partners to ensure process changes are appropriately implemented across Commercial Insurance
  • Monitor adherence of process changes and report issues raised from front-line services 
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College Program
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present data and information to various audiences
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Proactive and responsive to changing timelines and priorities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite products (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with proficiency in data manipulation (Excel) and process mapping (Visio)
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze, draw insights, understand the 'so what', and communicate key findings to stakeholders 
  • Familiarity with lean principles/Lean Six Sigma is an asset

The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22/h and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
