What can you expect in this role?
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders – and develop a detailed understanding of Definity’s business in order to support our efforts to build the company’s profile and support our valuation.
- Assist with preparation of external investor-related communication and disclosure materials, including investor presentations and the IR website, and identify best practices to ensure quality and consistency of IR materials.
- Support with researching and coordinating information gathering and analysis for ad hoc inquiries and disclosure; including background notes and Q&A speaking notes investor meetings, conferences and meetings, news releases and scripts, and board reports.
- Continuously monitor company’s share price, sell-side analysts’ estimates, investor perceptions, peer company and industry performance to help prepare briefing materials and potential questions for the Executive Leadership Team.
- Conduct investor targeting analysis for conferences to provide proactive insight into current and prospective shareholders.
- Support the development and enhancement of relationships with institutional shareholders, fund managers, sell-side analysts, corporate access and institutional sales desk contacts.
- Coordinate investor meetings (non-deal roadshow and otherwise) and conferences by working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including on any related materials and logistics.
- Monitor activity in the Canadian P&C industry, including development and maintenance of industry benchmarking databases and presentations.
- The incumbent may also be called to support and/or lead ad hoc projects for Executive Leadership Team and senior business leaders, such as preparing or supporting the preparation of Board materials, competitive analysis, peer benchmarking, capital market analysis, investor days, and other strategic projects.
What do you bring to the role?
- Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, accounting, finance, economics or related field of study, with high proven achievement
- Further education, ideally an MBA, CFA, CPA, or CPIR is highly desired
- 0-4 years work experience (including co-op or internships), in an accounting or finance-related role, preferably with experience in investor relations
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting practices and an ability to analyze and understand the implications of business activities on the financial statements
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and investigate problems, identify issues, and propose solutions
- Interest and/or prior experience in financial services industries in general, and insurance specifically, would be an asset
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel, with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to produce clear reports and presentations, including strong working knowledge of PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet and/or S&P CapIQ
- Ability to operate with a flexible work schedule, particularly during quarterly reporting and financial year-end periods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including C-level executives

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
