Work closely with a technical and agile development team in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. You will play a key role throughout the release life cycle by working closely with the Quality Testing team, software developers and project stakeholders to ensure that Quality Testing goals have been met.

What can you expect in this role?

  • As a QE specialist, you will responsible for developing and executing test strategies and test plans related to our data platforms’ projects and releases with a focus on optimized coverage across work streams
  • Maximize test automation coverage by bringing in automation first mindset and look for opportunities to shift-left testing in the delivery process 
  • Define & implement strategy for Big Data platform to validate data ingestion, ETL, data integrity, data analytical reports etc.
  • Define and implement testing data strategy using data seeding, masking, data generation 
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional team across various work stream 
  • Lead a team of QE professionals and drive testing priorities to achieve the necessary business outcomes
  • Provide accurate and detailed QE test status to stakeholders, along with issues, trends and potential impact and drive timely resolution of impediments 
  • Identify and select industry best practices, to support continuous process improvements and efficiencies in the overall QE processes at Economial
  • Participate in the coordination of the change/release management and production implementation processes and activities
  • Provide project and technical orientation and support for team members
  • Work closely with business/project teams to understand the business meaning of data, and provide analysis and requirements to develop data governance and complete test case coverage 
  • Support development of insurance domain knowledge and understanding of business processes within the team

What do you bring to the role?

  • Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in Quality engineering Datawarehouse, Cloud knowledge (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure as optional)
  • Proven experience within the Insurance Industry
  • 7+ years’ experience in technical area of specialty, specifically SQL, BigQuery, Cloud, Python/Pyspark and any data platform
  • Knowledge on Airflow DAG, Cloud composer, Looker studio is must.
  • Strong ability to analyze the business and user requirements and translate them into testing deliverables such as testing data, SQL query and validate expected results.
  • Strong ability to create strategy and have good business communication to interact with different stake holders.
  • Strong ability to develop test plans and running analysis on testing results.
  • Strong ability to provide triage support on testing results and provide guidance and confidence to stakeholder for the closure path.
  • Ability to create solutions to various complex DATA testing challenges.
  • Ability to create various metrics and provide insight to stakeholders upfront with recommendations.
  • Working knowledge on JIRA board/Zephyr is mandatory.
  • Experience in data ingestion, ETL testing, data integrity testing and Cloud testing
  • Experience in any DH Automation tools or technologies (Python/Pyspark)
  • Experience of Agile software development practice and methodologies
  • Goal oriented; must be able to remove roadblocks and deliver goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly and easily to change.
  • Ability to work in onshore offshore model is added advantage.
  • Guidewire PC, BC and CC knowledge is added advantage.
  • Adapt to work in Hybrid work model is must.

Salary range: $69,800 - $140,400

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
