The Cloud Services Design Lead is responsible for driving the development cloud services across a multi-cloud environment. Managing the full life cycle of services including demand management, deployment, maintenance, and service retirement this role works to ensure cloud services are optimally designed and leveraged across teams. Working across technology teams this role enhances self-service capabilities and operational processes for cloud services are continually enhanced. 

What can you expect in this role?  

Services Development

  • Work cross-functionally and with Cloud Engineers to develop the service catalog across a multi-cloud environment.
  • Design new development tools, infrastructure, and architecture models that leverage cloud technologies to meet organizational objectives. 
  • Integrate service catalog with operational processes and cloud self-service capabilities.
  • Build product certification processes and ensure appropriate maintain procedures are in place.

Services Management 

  • Oversee the full life-cycle of cloud services including demand management, service development, service maintenance, and service retirement. 
  • Establish and monitor key service metrics and targets ensuring services are operating optimally.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure services are being adopted.
  • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. 

Program Support

  • Support the development of the cloud strategy.
  • Regularly evaluate cloud applications and cloud provider offerings.
  • Support project initiatives with work estimation and design decisions.

What do you bring to the role? 

  • Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field.
  • 10+ years combination of solution design, technical implementation, and infrastructure architecture experience.
  • Experience designing full-stack solutions and building development capabilities on cloud platforms (AWS and GCP).
  • Previous work on implementing multiple complex enterprise level changes simultaneously, creating standards, and promoting and measuring adoption.
  • Experience with application architectures, middleware, and technology platform architectures (cloud, on-premise, and hybrid).        
  • Professional level cloud certification preferred.
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP
  • DevOps Technologies: JFrog Artifactory, Vault, Terraform, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, ArgoCD
  • Scripting and Programming Languages:  Bash, Python, Node, Ruby, Go
  • Container Platforms: Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, Anthos, Docker
  • Proficiency with Git and Git workflows.                                                                                 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure. 
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written)

Salary range: $77,700 - $157,000

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
