Position Title: Manager, National Auto Claims
Location: Calgary, Alberta
The Manager, National Auto Claims plays a pivotal role in driving results, fostering a high-performance culture, and guiding strategic initiatives within the Claims National Auto Damage line of business. Reporting to the Director, the incumbent will oversee a team responsible for adjudicating auto physical damage claims efficiently, accurately, and professionally.
What can you expect in this role?
- Optimize claims processes, mitigate risks, and capitalize on emerging opportunities within the auto claims landscape.
- Assist in identifying process enhancements and improvements to existing programs to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Monitor and focus on key performance metrics (KPIs) while maintaining budgetary targets.
- Provide regular, timely, and accurate reports to monitor the progress of claim operations, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement. Implement strategies to achieve and exceed annual goals while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Foster the growth and development of team leaders to empower them to effectively manage their respective teams. Provide mentorship, coaching, and resources to cultivate leadership skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Recruit, select, and manage claims employees, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Act as the senior claims liaison with the broker force, fostering positive relationships and addressing any issues or concerns to maintain effective partnerships
- Manage multiple initiatives concurrently, prioritizing based on impact and alignment with organizational objectives. Delegate responsibilities as necessary to empower team members and focus on strategic imperatives.
- Maintain a high level of awareness of and participation in national claims initiatives, and stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, to allow for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and streamline workflows.
What do you bring to the role?
- University degree, in any discipline, or a 2-year diploma in a related field
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) or Canadian Risk Manager (CRM) designations would be an asset
- Proven track record of driving results in a managerial role (5+ years) within Property & Casualty insurance; Auto claims experience is an asset
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Advanced knowledge of claims procedures and processes for auto claims, ensuring compliance with corporate claims guidelines, policies, contracts and procedures.
- Fluent bilingualism (English and French) an asset
- Ability to travel required, when appropriate.
Preference will be given to candidates based in or willing to relocate to Calgary, Alberta
Salary range is $84,000 - $154,700
Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market. In addition to base pay,eligible employees may participate various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
