Team Leader, Auto Appraisal Admin

Reporting to the National Auto Appraisal Senior Manager. The Admin Team Leader primary responsibility and accountability is the management of all appraisal functions within our admin team. This role will also require oversight of staff throughout Canada. The position provides guidance, on-the-job training, technical instructions, and direct leadership to assigned staff relative to performance, productivity, personal conduct, and adherence to processes and Corporate Policy and Procedures.  The position is also accountable for the day-to-day management of the salvage process generated by our appraisers and adjusting teams. The role involves direct interactions with staff, customers, and other industry stakeholders.

This is a Hybrid position requiring a minimum 2 days per week in the office; candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to our office branch location to facilitate staff interaction, meetings, training, and one-one coaching. This position may require travel periodically throughout the year.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides direction, coaching and support to those positions reporting directly and indirectly, including new hire orientation, performance management, vacations, training etc.
  • Maintains a high level of expertise with new repair techniques, industry guidelines, new vehicle technology and implements all new appraisal system software by delivering the training for staff.
  • Must be the subject matter expert on admin systems for the inside appraisal positions.
  • Handles all complaints once they have been escalated and ensures proper documentation and closure on all system.
  • Complete proper file documentation on all total loss files.
  • Is the liaison between the appraisal unit and all other departments, which includes attending various monthly meetings with leaders of other departments.
  • Attend I-CAR training
  • Attend external stakeholder meetings.
  • Attend Definity Appraisal conference.
  • Complete staff’s admin performance tracker and provide coaching. 
  • Complete monthly quality assurance audits for staff
  • Manage a group of Senior Admin Assistants.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a two-year College Diploma in an acceptable discipline to the Definity or a University degree
  • 4 to 5 years appraisal experience within the auto repair industry with 2-3 years as in a leadership role would be an asset.
  •  I-CAR Industry platinum certification as well as completed in class Audatex Solera Estimating software training would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated advance level of understanding in Audatex Solera imaging systems and Autosource Total Loss evaluation.
  • Bilingual in both French and English, verbal and written would be an asset. 
  • Claims experience within the auto physical damage industry along with a skill set allowing the preparation of appraisals using computerized Audatex Solera estimating software programs would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand management reports and estimating data. 
  • Effective leadership to achieve organizational goals
  • Ability to generate staff production reporting 
  • Ability to motivate and engage staff

Salary range is $66,300 - $122,100

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay,eligible employees may participate various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
