What can you expect in this role?

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for designated brokerages while working in conjunction with Business Development Specialist(s), in executing the Regional strategy and achievement of the territory sales targets
  • Actively manages relationships within the existing Broker network
  • Support brokerage sales targets and commitments
  • Works with the broker principles on contract negotiations.
  • Plans Broker appointments, manages the broker planning, negotiates incentives and overrides, manages CPC and broker terminations
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with broker principles and key commercial producers, building a pipeline of large commercial leads
  • Provides excellent customer service to support operational efficiency
  • Creates strategic growth opportunities across lines of business
  • Drives Broker satisfaction in alignment with the Broker segmentation strategy
  • Identifies and addresses inquiries/concerns from the Brokers they support, escalating to the appropriate Economical team and following it through to resolution.
  • Implements Broker product, sales, system and technology training (as appropriate)
  • Works with the Business Development Specialist in managing Broker relationships to drive profitable GWP growth, and collaborates with peers in Business Development, Regional & National Underwriting Operations and Claims in the Region to share market intelligence and deliver a consistent Broker experience which meets or exceeds Broker expectations and needs
  • Territory is brokers in the GTA area.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Strong working knowledge of Personal Insurance, which is a key success factor for operating in Economical's multi-line sales environment 
  • Commercial Insurance and Farm Insurance lines of business knowledge would be an asset. 
  • 5 years of Property and Casualty experience, including 5+ years in a broker-facing property, casualty, commercial role (e.g., within Underwriting, Sales & Distribution, etc
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow and GuideWire an asset
  • Experience with financial reporting and analytics
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong ability to influence and effectively negotiate with stakeholders
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the company 
  • Preference will be given to bilingual candidates (French and English)

Salary range is $66,300 - $122,100.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.  In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
