What you’ll be doing 

 

  • Administrative/organization of files (opening/closing files, entering file details into software, requesting cheques, maintaining a paperless system, uploading documents received)
  • Support file work by organizing/renaming documents from the clients and from other parties to the litigation
  • Schedule examinations under oath, meetings, and various hearings at Court and/or LAT
  • Prepare and compile documents/briefs as assigned
  • Draft correspondence and serve /file documents with the Court and Tribunal for Tort and Accident Benefit files
  • Review documents and prepare summaries
  • Prepare Affidavit of Documents and other documents as assigned
  • Provide input into the procedures and practices
  • Work within a paperless environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned of a Legal Assistant/Law Clerk

 

What you bring  

 

  • College and/or University Degree in legal studies
  • High degree of personal ethics, integrity and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard privileged and confidential information
  • Great attention to detail with proof reading skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple, yet sometimes conflicting priorities

  • Team player, adaptable to a changing environment
