What can you expect in this role? 

As a part of the Technology Portfolio Planning team, you will have a unique opportunity to join a team that supports both technology strategic planning and project delivery. Day-to-day you will collaboratively work with a growing team of Portfolio Managers and Technology Delivery Managers to support our strategic initiatives and processes. The Project Coordinator role is a great way to build your experience in both technology planning and delivery execution, while also introducing you to the modern technology that enables a P&C insurance business. This role reports to the Director of TS Portfolio Planning which will provide you with the necessary coaching and guidance to shape your work-term experience at Definity Insurance. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with our Technology Delivery Managers to lead small initiatives within the technology portfolio (Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, Contact Centre, and CRM Platform) 

  • Partner with Portfolio Managers to shape future technology discoveries (RFP/RFIs), business cases, cost estimates, and strategies 

  • Support the Portfolio Planning team through quarterly or annual planning cycles – this may include engaging with TS or business leads to understand and compile new Plan submissions 

  • Support the Director of Portfolio Planning with ad-hoc executive requests 

  • Lead our TS Portfolio Intake pipeline coordination and communication with senior Technology and Business stakeholders – this includes maintaining our ServiceNow and JIRA pipeline views 

  • Creation and/or updating of executive PowerPoint presentations 

  • Chair meetings, take & distribute minutes to all team members and stakeholders 

What you bring 

  • Self-driven, able to move tasks & requests forward independently and with personal accountability 

  • Open to explore new opportunities and responsibilities in unfamiliar domains 

  • Team player and excellent collaborator, able to both lead & participate to develop solutions with strong customer focus 

  • Detailed orientated, organized and resourceful 

  • Adaptive and Agile, able to rapidly pivot your efforts between multiple priorities as business needs change 

  • Working towards a university degree/college diploma in a technology, business or related discipline with a graduation date no earlier than April 2023 

  • Previous experience working in a technology solution environment   

  • Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment 

  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, VBA, PowerPoint) and MS Teams   

  • Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow & Clarity (CA PPM)
