What can you expect in this role?

 

  • Solution Architecture leadership in major transformation programs in the enterprise.
  • Lead the development of target state architectures that enable business outcomes and consider the end-to-end flow
  • Develop capability heat maps by interviewing business and IT stakeholders and evaluating the desired capabilities against the current technical environment.
  • Review and provide feedback on standards, principles, and design patterns.
  • Make sound architecture decisions based on expertise (knowledge) of open/industry standards, current and evolving technologies, products, standards, patterns, and approaches
  • Contribute to the Architecture Community of Practice.
  • Represent Enterprise Architecture in RFx processes. Evaluate new technology for fit within existing standards and make recommendations for adoption.
  • Build strong working relationships within the TS organization to ensure optimal performance and ensure what we deliver meets the expectations of key stakeholders.
  • Understanding the technology landscape of Insurance at Definity

What do you bring to the role?

  • A positive “can do” attitude. Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize target state, to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business
  • Degree or Diploma in computer science, business, or a related discipline is preferred
  • 8+ years relevant experience
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project delivery practices
  • Expert knowledge of architecture related to technologies, tools, processes, and broader business issues.
  • Extensive experience in Enterprise and Solution Architecture – end to end solution architecture and roadmaps
  • Extensive experience working in large mixed technology environments – Legacy, distributed, cloud
  • Understanding of architecture concepts and technologies for data, integrations, infrastructure, security.
  • Understanding of cloud-based services on AWS/Azure/GCP and a strong desire to learn more
  • Ability to self-start and work with minimal oversight or supervision.
  • Readiness to act as a lead expert resource in architectural information exchange for project teams, the business and outside vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build credibility and collaboration, including developing effective cross-organizational and vendor relationships.
  • Experience in Insurance or a related industry an asset
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ecosystems.
  • This role can be located in Toronto or Kitchener
