What can you expect in this role?
Definity's Enterprise Data Office (EDO) is dedicated to facilitating the governance and standardization of Definity’s Data and driving initiatives to operationalize and embed Data Governance and Management capabilities across the organization. The Analyst is a critical support function responsible for the coordination of key activities across the EDO, documenting business requirements, supporting the EDO Managers to create and maintain frameworks, standards, policies, artifacts, and policies, and supporting the development of training and knowledge material. The Analyst manages and maintains the teams scrum board and hosts team stand ups.
What you’ll be doing:

Support EDO Managers in the development of frameworks, standards, policies, artifacts, and policies for Data Management and Governance capabilities

Administer and continuously enhance the teams kanban, scrum board. Host team stand up's and other agile ceremonies. E.g. Backlog grooming and Retrospectives. This individual liases with EPMO to ensure adoption of best practices, tools and process for program management

Contribute towards the development and delivery of education and training sessions to internal stakeholders regarding components of the Data Governance Program

Assist with Data Governance projects or initiatives; conducting gap analysis on data management controls and recommending solutions to remediate gaps by analyzing impacts on data constraints, data flow and business requirements

Facilitate regular meetings with the Data Governance Steering committee and Stewardship team to enable collaboration across business user and ownership groups
What you bring:
-
Possesses a university degree preferred in computer science, engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution
-
2 + years’ Experience in Data Governance, data Quality management or similar role supporting cross-functional governance projects demonstrating strong planning, tracking and presentation skills

Experience in requirements gathering and documentation

Strong working knowledge of project management techniques and tools including Microsoft Project, JIRA and Confluence
-
Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Experience with reporting tools an asset

Strong business analysis, proven/strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability

Excellent relationship management skills with demonstrated inter-personal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills

Strong presentation skills, with an ability to manage by positive influence and work effectively with stakeholders
