Reporting to the VP, HR Operations, the Director, Talent Acquisition is an integral member of the HR Operations leadership team, helping to lead the bold innovation of the organization’s talent acquisition processes, tools, and programs. The Director will have 5 direct reports and a broader team of approximately 15 and will be responsible for driving the talent acquisition strategy for the organization.
The Director, Talent Acquisition has multiple accountabilities; driving the multi-year strategic talent acquisition plan, ensure the talent acquisition team delivers on headcount demands across multiple lines of business, continue driving enhancements to our applicant tracking system, continue building our talent brand and drive our inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA) agenda across the candidate lifecycle.
In the context of Definity’s bold growth strategy and building on best-in-class experiences, the Director is responsible for ongoing development of the multi-year Talent Acquisition vision to respond to the market
Understand Definity’s business strategy across all lines of business and create talent acquisition plans to help ensure the business can meet their goals. In doing this, the Director will define the TA priorities and address any barriers to achieving Definity’s talent strategy
Work with the TA Manager to:
Help lead the continuous improvement of recruitment processes with the TA team, focusing on incorporating IDEA and streamlining our selection processes across business units
Build exceptional functional knowledge, business relationships and ensure market insights are being used in a consultative approach with hiring leaders and other stakeholders
Ensure the team is delivering on effective and innovative search strategies
Employer Brand: Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to enable and drive the effective delivery of Definity’s brand and social strategies
In collaboration with the Organizational Development team, enhance inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility at all stages of the recruitment process. Deliver on TA’s IDEA strategy and continue enhancing and building on this strategy
Lead recruitment for senior level hiring and create an effective executive recruiting program
As part of the ATS implementation team, continue to build on the implementation plan and ensure flawless execution of integrations, updates, training, and change management practices
Working with the TA manager, continue developing key metrics/dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of the TA process and function and draw insights on the external talent market
Help manage and optimize partnerships with search firms/agencies (retained, contingency, outsourced, insourced) and other external service providers – LinkedIn, Glassdoor/Indeed, background checking, social media, IDEA partnerships, etc.
Employer Brand: Continue building the Definity brand through a multi- channel approach. Build our campus brand strategy and make significant headways in continuing to build our organic social presence
Working with the Campus Manager, support in the continued development and implementation of Co-op and New Grad Campus Programs. Help build and push the growth of these programs
Working with the Campus Manager, the business leads and our OD partners, help spearhead the development of Rotation Programs for Definity Insurance

Requirements and Qualifications:
The Director, Talent Acquisition is a passionate leader known for bringing innovation and continuous improvement to recruitment processes and programs.
Building on 10+ years of progressive talent acquisition (TA) experience, of which at least 7 are at the leadership level
Undergraduate degree and related accreditation such as CHRP and/or RPR
Demonstrated success evolving the TA practices of organizations with strong employment brands
Brings strong insights on the national recruitment landscape for top talent.
Demonstrated ability to innovate to meet the talent demands of Definity’s bold business strategy while enhancing the organization’s employment brand and candidate experience
Effective listener and communicator, able to engage and influence others through outstanding oral, written, visual and digital messaging
Demonstrated natural relationship builder, easily establishes trust and credibility and collaborates effectively across organizational boundaries, with candidates, and external partners
Courage to challenge the status quo and invite discussion that will trigger new thinking
Brings the vision and curiosity to introduce new practices, embraces non-traditional approaches and can bring an innovative mindset to existing practices
