We are looking for a Technical Senior Manager to join our Data Engineering team. The role of Senior Manager is to lead Big Data Engineering in our Data space, accountable for leading and delivering the Data solutions for the organization. As a Sr. Manager of Data Engineering, you will oversee the development and roadmap execution for the teams working on all our core data products which include Policy, claims and Billing. Your focus will be on the quality and timeliness of the team's output (including code and accompanying documentation) and ensure an appropriate balance of speed to market with robustness of solutions.

As a key leader of a multicultural distributed team, you will use your experience to ensure we foster an open culture that is inclusive of all thoughts and ideas. This includes

  • Align with stakeholders on mission critical projects to resolve complex business problems, ensuring projects commitments are met
  • Design and implement complex product components based on requirements with possible technical solutions.
  • Lead team to write data programs using Spark/pyspark or ELT tools with a commitment to maintaining high quality work while being confident in dealing with data lake challenges.
  • Discover any feasible new technologies lying in the big data ecosystem, share them to team with your professional perspectives.
  • Be comfortable conducting detailed discussions with Data Scientists regarding specific questions related to specific data models.
  • Partners with functional leads (product, design, engineering) within the team to set strategy, roadmap and OKRs
  • Lead, hire, onboard, and develop talents, careers, and culture a data driven organization
  • Is responsible for the quality and direction of data team’s work
  • Collaborates closely with counterparts in data & Insights on projects that span multiple missions
  • Design experiments that aim to evolve the team strategy, provides expertise on metrics to track and the trade-off between competing metrics, and provides recommendations
  • Represent the best practices of the data ingestion, curation, and consumption insights to both internal and external partners
  • You should be a strong problem solver with proven experience in big data
  • Lead the creation of our cloud data platform strategy, vision, and framework
  • Manage people, their performances and development plans build stronger and excellent team


What do you bring to the role?

  • 7+ years’ experience working on Big Data and Data Analysis domain
  • 4+ years’ experience on team management and People management
  • Hands-on experience and deep knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem
    • Must: Spark, Mapreduce, HDFS, Any ETL tools experience
    • Kafka or any Pubsub
    • DataBricks, Dataflow, scheduling tools
    • Good to have Cloud Skills
    • Operational tools/systems understanding like Splunk, Service now
  • Must have 2+ years Linux environment development experience.
  • Proficient with programming in Python, Databricks, experience in spark, or any Other ETL tools in data space.
  • Having a background and experience with data ingestion, data domains
  • Passion for cloud computing (Google in particular) and distributed systems.
  • You must be a great problem solver with the ability to dive deeply into complex problems and emerge with clear and pragmatic solutions.
  • Good communication, and cooperation globally.
  • Major in Math or Computer Science.
